The Perseid Meteor Shower, described as "nature's best firework show", is set to light up the sky tonight and tomorrow. This meteor shower is one of nature's most spectacular shows and we think it's the perfect setting for a romantic proposal or date night. Of course the Rocky Mountains offer the perfect dark night skies you need to view it best and this year is promising to be even more spectacular since the timing of the shower falls on a new moon. The best time to watch the meteorites is between 11pm and 2am (before the moon rises).
One of the world's largest dark sky preserves is Jasper, making it the ideal location for an intimate show of the meteorites or proposal location. We're thinking a night at the Fairmont Jasper and some meteorite watching is the most luxurious and romantic getaway!
